After studying Environmental Engineering at Purdue University, Lucas worked in a diversity of roles in the Environmental Consulting industry. During this time, he worked in the field as a Remediation Engineer, calculated emissions as an Air Quality Engineer, and helped implement large-scale information management systems as an EHS Software Consultant. Working with clients from a variety of different sectors, each with their own unique set of challenges, required the ability to think critically and creatively to meet clients’ needs. Lucas hopes to leverage his experiences from industry to his research in order to help find solutions for some of society’s greatest challenges. His research will focus on solar energy storage, second life electric vehicle battery use, and renewable energy integration.
