Rachel is originally from Buffalo, NY and received her BEng in Mechanical Engineering in 2021 at the University of Dayton. During her undergraduate education, she gained hands-on experience in consulting and building automation. Rachel is interested in expanding her technical knowledge and applying it to finding sustainable solutions to mitigate energy losses. Currently, for research, Rachel is developing a life cycle assessment model comparing succinic acid produced via algae grown in an open pond versus a fermenter.
