Hadj Babouhoun Kerrouchi recently graduated with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from the American University of Sharjah, UAE. His senior design project, which focused on designing and manufacturing a solar-water electrolysis system to reduce fuel consumption in natural gas vehicles, earned second place in the Sharjah Sustainability Award under the “Future Energy and Emissions” category. Passionate about renewable energy and sustainability, Hadj Babouhoun has actively participated in related events and was a student delegate at the Student Energy Summit 2023. He was subsequently awarded the Student Energy Fellowship. As a master’s student at UC Davis, Hadj Babouhoun aims to gain research experience in energy modeling, optimization and control of energy systems, with a focus on developing sustainable energy solutions.
