Ryan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Davis in 2021, where he was actively involved in a variety of sustainability programs on campus and at UC Davis Health. Before beginning their Master’s degree in Energy Systems at UC Davis, they served as COO at Polifax Inc., where they oversaw the creation of an innovative platform for political discourse. Ryan additionally worked as an Environmental Analyst at Kimley-Horn and Associates, where he focused on environmental planning, CEQA/NEPA compliance, industrial decarbonization, energy optimization, and emissions management.

Ryan plans to explore energy efficiency, technological optimization, and system modeling and analysis at UC Davis. Their research interests reflect a desire to address complex problems using interdisciplinary approaches,and range from the food-water-energy nexus and energy markets to energy access and environmental justice. Ryan is eager to create solutions that address a wide variety of complex energy challenges and promote a more sustainable future.
