The California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) at UC Davis and Greenwise Joint Venture, a local environmental non-profit, are the two main players involved in a recent PG&E grant to enhance lighting technology at the Twin Rivers Unified School District in Sacramento.
The CLTC will support the $100,000 grant by helping the school district evaluate and select new lighting technology.
In addition, Greenwise will supplement the CLTC’s efforts by working with Grant Union High School’s AP Environmental Science students to assess the grant’s impact on lighting quality, costs and the school’s carbon footprint. Students will then develop a plan to improve the high school’s energy efficiency that they will present to the school district.
