Description: The Naval Enterprise Partnership Teaming with Universities for National Excellence (NEPTUNE) is a pilot program of the U.S. Office of Naval Research providing multi-million dollar funding to six universities (Arizona State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Purdue, The Naval Academy, The Naval Postgraduate School, and UC Davis) to conduct energy research and train military personnel. Approximately seventy-five people, with representatives from all six NEPTUNE universities, attended the event where student veterans and researchers presented updates on their projects and engaged with key faculty, university leadership, and government and industry energy leaders.

Description: This event offers a unique opportunity for members of the Energy Efficiency Center’s Board of Advisors and Special Guests to meet and network with executive leaders of the California wine, food, and beverage industry (particularly those affiliated with the UC Davis Food Science & Technology and Viticulture & Enology departments) and relevant public agencies, to discuss issues pertaining to sustainable and efficient food and beverage processing in the country’s agricultural heartland. Meaningful discourse will take place over the course of two hours of moderated panel discussions. Networking and informal discussions will take place immediately following during a wine tasting reception and dinner. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the LEED Platinum Teaching and Research Winery and new Jackson Sustainable Winery Building to see state-of-the art Zero-Net Energy and Zero-Net Water solutions and best practices.

Description: The UC Davis Energy Efficiency Center, California Lighting Technology Center, Western Cooling Efficiency Center, and Greenwise Joint Venture partnered to present this one-day symposium on proven best practices for lighting and HVAC updates. Representatives from K-12 schools across Northern California engaged in technology and financing workshops, “ask the expert” discussions, and a “vendor match” session for companies and schools interested in partnering on demonstration projects. School leaders also presented case studies on cost-effective retrofit projects already completed or underway.
