Load Shifting at Wastewater Treatment Plants

The Center for Water-Energy Efficiency investigated a wastewater treatment plant in Santa Rosa, CA and its ability to serve as a demand resource on the wholesale energy market through the proxy demand resource program. Analysis showed that the facility was able to shift its energy load without impacting wastewater effluent quality and that the plant could save up to 4.8% in energy costs. [Read More]
