Alissa Kendall is a Professor in the UC Davis Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Chair of the UC Davis Energy Graduate Group. Her research applies and advances the methods and perspectives of Industrial Ecology to understand and reduce the environmental effects of transport, civil infrastructure, energy, and agricultural systems. Specific research and teaching interests include life cycle assessment and other structured environmental assessment methods, and the development of new methods for carbon accounting. Kendall has served as a UC Davis Hellman Fellow and UC Davis Chancellor’s Fellow and has received a number of awards for her work, including the Laudis Medal and the 3M Award for Industrial Ecology. Prior to her UC Davis appointment, Kendall worked at the Center for Sustainable Systems and Ford Motor Company. She received her master’s and Ph.D from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
