Ashley is a Ph.D. Candidate in Energy Systems with a Policy and Management focus in the Energy Graduate Group. Ashley’s research interests include climate policy, energy and environmental justice, renewable energy, decarbonization and electrification, and distributed energy resources. Her work incorporates behavioral science and decision-making within the technical, market, and practical landscape of the energy industry. Ashley’s dissertation focuses on the intersection of participatory elements and quantitative modeling for climate-management decision-making, promoting a justice-oriented lens to deliver solutions amenable to various interest groups. Methodologies Ashley focuses on include life cycle assessment and participatory scenario planning.

Ashley earned her Master of Science in Energy Systems at UC Davis in 2022. She earned her Bachelor of Science at Michigan State University in 2019, where she graduated with Highest Honors. During her undergraduate career, Ashley was the founding student researcher in the Energy Values Lab in the Department of Community Sustainability with a mentor professor. Additionally, she was the Laboratory Coordinator of the Team Interaction Dynamics NASA research laboratory, and she completed her Honor’s Thesis in visual psychophysics in the Visual Neuroscience laboratory. Ashley is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society.
