Simon Duex
  • Ph.D Student
Research Interests: Life Cycle Engineering, Sustainable Mobility, Sustainable Technologies, Industrial Ecology, Energy Efficiency

Simon holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Product Development from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University in Germany. Before joining EGG, Simon worked as a research scholar at UC Davis for the Department of Chemical Engineering, where he developed a device for patterning semiconducting polymers. He also worked as a research scholar at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Davis, where he wrote his Bachelor Thesis about energy efficient 3D printing with a life cycle engineering focus. Simon’s work as a research scholar at UC Davis was sponsered by fellowships of the German Academic Exchange Service and by the “Germany Fellowship (Deutschlandstipendium)” from the German Federal Ministry of Science and Education.

Currently, Simon is pursuing his Ph.D. in Energy Systems on the Energy Science and Technology track , where he works with Dr. Kendall.
Dr. Alissa Kendall’s lab strives to “advance the methods and perspectives of Industrial Ecology to understand and reduce the environmental effects of transport, civil infrastructure, energy, and agricultural systems.”
