Carisse Geronimo

Research Interests: Food-Water-Energy Nexus, Environmental Justice, Tribal Energy Sovereignty, Renewable Microgrids, Energy Resilience

Carisse holds an M.S. in Environmental Systems with a concentration in Energy Technology and Policy from Cal Poly Humboldt. She has worked for three years as a research engineer at the Schatz Energy Research Center, where she has been involved with research related to carbon accounting, the health/energy nexus, biomass utilization, and renewable microgrids.

During her time in Davis, she plans to focus her research on organic waste recovery and waste-to-energy pathways. Carisse’s interests also include energy resilience, Tribal energy sovereignty, and renewable microgrids. Outside of academia, she enjoys swimming, rock climbing, and riding bikes.
