Before joining T&D, Katie was Vice President of Customer Programs and Services, where her team helped customers maximize the value of their energy use and lower carbon emissions through technology. During the historic heat wave of August 2022, she worked with Cal OES, the Governor’s Office, the CAISO and others to help stave off rotating outages.

Sloan has more than 15 years of experience at SCE and Edison International in Regulatory Affairs, Strategy, Customer Service and Power Supply. Sloan was previously director in charge of SCE’s advanced energy solutions for its 5 million customer accounts, including customer solar, battery storage, energy efficiency and demand response programs. Before this role, she was responsible for developing from the ground up SCE’s vehicle and building electrification programs, with an approved budget of more than $1 billion over six years, including the nation’s largest light-duty and medium/heavy-duty electric vehicle utility infrastructure programs.

She has also worked at First Solar, a large solar panel manufacturer, developing global public policy.

Sloan was named a Woman of Achievement by the San Gabriel Valley YWCA for her work at SCE and nonprofits. She currently serves as board chair of CALSTART, with the mission to build a high-tech, clean-transportation industry that creates jobs, cuts air pollution and oil imports and curbs climate change. She also serves on the board of Beyond the Block, a nonprofit focused on expanding global awareness and increasing intellectual curiosity of at-risk youth.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in regulatory economics from New Mexico State University.
