Ovais is a Master’s student in the Energy Graduate Group. Originally from Pakistan, he completed his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 and worked 4 years as a Project Engineer for one of the country’s largest Petrochemical and Energy conglomerates. During his job. he worked on projects such as greenfield petrochemical complexes, renewable energy parks, and waste-to-power generation among others. In 2022, Ovais was selected as a Fulbright scholarship recipient to pursue his graduate studies in the US and joined UC Davis. His research interests focus on the domain of Industrial Decarbonization.
