Research Interests: Sustainable Electricity Generation, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy Technologies Deployment, Life-Cycle Assessment

Andrés earned his Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering at the Technological University of Panama (UTP), where he graduated with the highest honors. Prior to joining UC Davis, he worked as an assistant professor in the Electrical Engineering Faculty at UTP, and as a researcher at the Hackerspace FIE Prototyping Laboratory. Currently, at UC Davis, he seeks to explore the optimization of energy efficiency in different processes, such as distributed power generation, electric vehicle charging and HVAC operation. In addition, Andrés is also interested in performing life-cycle assessments of new products that could help to reduce environmental impacts and create a more sustainable society.
