CLTC and Korea Shine Together with $3.5 Million Boost

The California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) has secured $3.5 million in funding from the South Korean government to develop a human-centered lighting system for the global market, with a focus on North America. CLTC will collaborate with a Korean Research Consortium, comprising industry leaders and research institutes, to design, test, and demonstrate the system in the U.S. This partnership not only enhances CLTC’s international presence but also reinforces its leadership in advanced lighting technology.

Capping It Off: How Tiny Valves Can Make a Big Impact

A recent study by the Western Cooling Efficiency Center has identified Schrader valves as a major source of refrigerant leaks, which contribute to climate change. The study found that many used valves leak significantly, but simple solutions like using gasketed caps and performing soapy water tests can effectively prevent these leaks. The research highlights the importance of addressing even small sources of refrigerant loss to reduce harmful emissions.

EEI Welcomes Mandela Washington Fellows

In partnership with UC Davis Global Affairs, 24 Mandela Fellows representing 20 countries in Africa visited EEI for tours and knowledge exchange.
