Kieran Heeley, Postdoctoral Scholar, UC Davis Spang Lab
Join us on May 1st at EEI for our Energy Bites lunch and a talk with Kieran Heeley, a postdoctoral scholar working at the intersection of food and energy systems. Heeley will share insights from his research on turning microalgae into hydrogen through supercritical water gasification—a promising approach for clean energy production, bioenergy applications, and carbon capture.
Kieran Heeley is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the Spang Lab at UC Davis. He earned his Ph.D. in Sustainable Hydrogen and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham in the UK, where his research encompassed renewable energy systems, bioenergy, carbon removal, and material circularity.
