Emerging Energy Professionals Seminar: Future of Utility-Scale Storage and Careers in the Clean Energy Industry

Join the UC Davis Energy and Efficiency Institute for an Emerging Energy Professionals seminar featuring Tim Arnold of NextEra Energy, one of the world’s leading renewable energy developers and operators.

The event will begin with an informal networking reception from 4:00–4:30 pm, offering students, faculty, and staff an opportunity to meet and connect with professionals working in the clean energy sector. Light refreshments will be provided.

The seminar presentation will follow from 4:30–5:30 pm, where Arnold will discuss the future of utility-scale energy storage and the growing workforce needs of the clean energy industry. The talk will highlight the wide range of technical and professional roles required to support the energy transition and will provide insight into career pathways for students interested in entering the sector. Arnold will also share information about NextEra Energy and current employment opportunities within the company.

Tim Arnold is a Senior Project Manager at NextEra Energy Resources and has been working in the renewable energy field for over 15 years. He is an Iowa resident and currently develops wind and solar projects across the state. Prior to joining the NextEra team, he was part of the Industrial Technologies faculty at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids and specialized in renewable energy installation and maintenance. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as an aircraft electrician and flying crew chief on KC-10A aerial refueling tankers.  When Tim is not out visiting and learning about communities across Iowa, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, kids, grandkids, and dogs.
