Description: The UC Davis Energy and Efficiency Institute, in conjunction with PG&E, will be hosting a 2-day Training Course for student veterans interested in pursuing careers in the energy field. Participants will learn about building energy use and efficiency, get hands on experience, learn how to conduct a basic energy audit, and network with professionals in the energy field.
Attendees: Graduate and undergraduate veteran students. Participation is open to students from UC Davis, Community Colleges, Sacramento State University, and other local educational institutions.

Description:  The State of California has selected UC Davis to be an official affiliate event host for the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS), scheduled from September 12–14 in San Francisco, CA. One of the world’s highest-ranked universities for sustainability programs and innovation, UC Davis is home to two renowned centers for applied transportation and energy research and multidisciplinary graduate education: the Institute for Transportation Studies and the Energy and Efficiency Institute. UC Davis also houses the Policy Institute for Energy, Environment, and the Economy, which engages lawmakers and stakeholders in policy formulation.

UC Davis will host four official affiliate sessions on Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 12 to bring together GCAS attendees around key topics related to climate, energy, transportation, and public policy: topics that would benefit from increased collaboration and in which UC Davis has demonstrated leadership and expertise. UC Davis will also host an evening reception on Tuesday, September 11 open to all session attendees. All events will be conveniently located in downtown San Francisco near the primary GCAS venues.

Description: The UC Davis Energy and Efficiency Institute and its affiliated research centers hosted their first joint Affiliates Forum. The theme of this year’s forum was Integrated Energy Solutions. This meeting provided a unique opportunity to engage with the latest R&D and program initiatives at UC Davis and to network and explore innovative energy solutions across sectors. Attendees included current and potential affiliates, as well as current and potential collaborators at UC Davis and state and non-profit agencies.
